Destination Vow Renewal | Zion National Park

To say that this was a 'dream' session, is a bit of an understatement. Three of my favorite things were all combined to make this happen, photography, travel, and friends!

My amazing friend over at Chaos Kiddos and Harmony wanted to renew her vows with her awesome husband, while including their children and an amazing location. With vow renewals, there aren't any legal documents, guests don't need to attend, and it can REALLY just be about the love that unites you. Maybe you didn't get amazing wedding pictures, maybe it was just a stressful day, maybe you've been married for a long time, or maybe you just love each other and want to show it. There are a lot of reason to renew vows, and all of them are perfect.

This trip to Zion National Park was my first, but it won't be my last. The sights are absolutely breathtaking. The hikes bring new views around every corner. The local restaurants and general landscape is heaven, and the wildlife is AWESOME too.

This vow renewal was all about love, and all about this family. They planned to literally relax and enjoy the park up until just before vows time. We were all hiking and exploring mere hours before time for photos. Once the dresses were on and locations picked, everything was perfect. It wasn't hot- it wasn't cold - it was just windy enough.

Gwen looked beautiful in her simple gown and the girls were so pretty in pink. Uniquely them, and they loved their dresses.

They wrote their own vows, and poured out their hearts to each other. I could barely make out the words, but it wasn't for me. It wasn't for guests or cameras. The vows were between two people and the three children that they brought into the world together.

After the vows were done, an elegant dinner was planned. -We all ordered pizza and hot wings and bad-for-you-foods at the local resort food joint and it was delicious. As the snow began to fall, the vows were said and images captured. An amazing weekend was wrapped up between friends and family and hopefully those 5 remember it forever, because this photographer certainly will.

Until next time ZION.
